The Jake’s Run flux site is in Jakes Run, West Virginia in a grassy meadow surrounded by deciduous forest (~300×400 m). The 20 m eddy covariance tower is located downwind a livestock farm and within proximity of the Jake’s Run stream. The flux site uses manual chambers, eddy covariance techniques, and methane stable carbon isotopes to quantify carbon concentrations. The flux tower began collecting data in July 2017 before any drilling activity began and continued throughout local hydraulic fracturing procedures.
